Opening July 15th (prime time for summer films), is the new remake of “Ghostbusters.

In this updated version of the wonderful 1984 film that starred Bill Murray, an all female cast of ghostbusters takes the stage. Bill has a part in this film as does Dan Aykroyd, Ernie Hudson and Annie Potts.

The actors who will be front and center in this new cast are: Kate McKinnon (SNL), Melissa McCarthy (The Boss), Kristen Wigg (The Martian), and I’m missing someone. Who am I missing, OH YEAH!! CHRIS HEMSWORTH, (Thor).

Check out the trailers below to see how the ladies handle them ghosts.

These trailers both look like the film will be fun, but…they also show a lot of the same scenes redone with the women now in the roles. If that is indeed the truth, then I worry about how this film will be received. There are the few guys from the first film in the film with a cameo or larger part, is that enough? There are still some of us out here who do remember the first film. Sony isn’t only playing to millennials. Us old folks would like a new “Ghostbusters” that is new and fun.

What do you think?

About The Author

Always interested in a good indie film, my taste run towards Horror and documentaries. Rom-coms are my least favorite genre, but I will always take a look for the better good of the site. I've reviewed films for seven years and want to do it for about 20 more...we will see.
